got tear gassed

January 10, 2007

Yesterday I went to the center of town to get some copies of keys made,   as i got closer I noticed smoke coming from one of the streets,  so I thought id go check it out.   I asked around and found out they were having politcal demonstrations and it was turning pretty ugly,  burning cars and government buildings.   I was curious to see more so I kept walking,  I walked into the middle of a crowd of people that were throwing rocks and glass bottles at the police in full roit gear.  It got pretty chaotic then I thought to myself, I should be going now:   Then the big dogs rolled in,   three armored trucks carrying about ten police shooting tear gas into the streets and the mob of people.  I turned to run one way but there was another crowd of people running from that direction, with more police firing tear gas at them,   I found a store front to step into out of the way of the crowd then managed to get out of there with water flowing from my eyes and nose hairs singed.   I heard that it was a lot worse today and they have blocked all roads coming in and out of the city.  Ive only been here a week so im not sure but I think this is pretty normal so im not too alarmed.    Well i hope to figure out how to get some pictures on this blog soon.     skip

    no way, that sounds crazy!

hey it’s pretty easy, once you’re in your dashboard and you are on the page where you write a blog, just scroll down to the bottom and click upload picture (assuming you have a device plugged in or if it’s on your computer) and then it will say to click Send to the Editor, which will insert it in your text body of your post. hope that helps. or you can just added photos to a site like flickr or snapfish and provide just the link on your blog so people can view them…

  2. Wow! that’s pretty crazy. Well we miss you like crazy but it’s so cool to see how things are going for you. We’re praying for you!

  3. I get this wacky picture of you running through the streets. Sounds wild.
