hello????
Hello Skip. I came across your blog while looking for pictures of street children…I grew up in Bolivia as a missionary kid and have seen first hand the poverty and suffering, my heart is still in Bolivia and with the people. I am a Human Services major and my goal is to open a home for street children someday, and I will be taking the semester off to volunteer in Bolivia again. I spent some time working with Mosoj Yan in Cocha last Summer and was wondering what organization you went down with, or who your connections were/(are?),or if you’re working independant? I would love to be involved with the children still right on the streets and not just working in homes for them(although that is obviously important too)…anyways I would love to get some information from you. Peace and God Bless!

The picture you have for your header is breathtaking. It never ceases to amaze me how just a touch of humanity can light up a kids face, no matter how dire or glum their circumstances. Keep on, man!

I wanted to introduce myself, and to thank you.
My name is Andy, and I am friends with Carlos Sastre. He forwarded me your blog. He knew I would love to read it, as I am about to embark on a short-term mission trip to Kenya.
Thank you for sharing your experiences online. Amazing to hear what God is doing everywhere in the world. Thank you for allowing God to use you to reach these children and show them God’s love. I’ll be staying tuned!

Dear Skip,
Born in Bolivia, I was adopted by German parents and have come to live a wonderful life with a circle of loving people. Now a high school student in California, I strive to excel in school and contribute my services to the world. For my history project I will be writing an 8-10 page essay on Bolivia. The purpose of the essay is to raise an issue/problem Bolivia has. My problem is not the street children themselves yet the problems the street children encounter daily. Mostly I would like to focus on government abuse and lack of support towards the children.
I would like to ask you a few question on your personal experiences with the children. From your pictures, I can tell you have seen worse than most people. Please contact me by replying to this “response” and/or giving me an email address with which I could obtain contact to ask the question I have.
Thank you for your time and effort,
former street child
